Axel went to his very first sleepover this weekend. It was actually his idea to do it, and he had been looking forward to it for weeks. I wasn't sure if he was ready (I kept my phone by the bedside just in case there needed to be an emergency pick up), but boy was I wrong. The next morning he seemed annoyed that we showed up to get him. He didn't want to leave and requested to do it again immediately, but "next time you should take longer". I don't know if I should be proud or offended . .
Leaving our house with a backpack and a bucket of toys
When Axel and his cousin Django get together, they LOVE to play video games. They really bond over it, talking together about the characters, showing each other the moves, taking turns playing and trading Ipads, phones, Playstations, etc. At one point during a big party I even caught them hiding in a dark closet together playing someone's Ipad - is this some sort of video game hide and seek?
It was a fun video game marathon weekend for them together, but sadly when we got back to San Diego, it all came to an end and Axel has been in serious withdrawal mode ever since . . .
